the interesting thing about balance is that while I understand that those proclaiming being able to do anything because they are free in Christ...can end up in a ditch. And then where is their freedom? They can't go anywhere because they are now surrounded by the slippery slopes sides that make it difficult if impossible to climb out. They have to ask Jesus to pull them out and put them back on the road. Notice that God does not pull them out and place them on the edge of the other ditch of legalism. No, they do that if they pull themselves out of the excessive freedom ditch.... they then run over to the side of the legalism ditch and in their own efforts to stay as far away as possible from the freedom ditch, but while they are walking that edge and keeping an eye of judgement ( which they call discernment) on all those that are closer to the freedom edge ( even those who are actually right in the middle where the belong....but because their eyes are on those other Christians and not on on Christ, they slip and slide into the legalism ditch. They actually like it there for a while, but then began to feel oppressed by the others that they share the ditch with, when God pulls them out and sets them back in the center, they run back to the freedom ditch... and they live their lives that way. Running back and forth to each ditch edge to avoid the opposite ditch, yet falling into each one.

This is really good Jake. I love the visual of walking down a road, not falling in the ditch- on either side. I'm keeping these thoughts with me for a while.
